Several local high school football teams will kick off the 2011 season with a jamboree Aug. 18 at Trojan Field on the campus of Gaylesville High School.

Teams taking part in this year's pre-season event include Gaylesville, Spring Garden, Cedar Bluff, Sand Rock, Hokes Bluff, Geraldine, Fyffe and Ohatchee.
The Trojans will battle Geraldine in the first game of the night, set to begin at 5 p.m. Geraldine then faces Sand Rock, who will remain on the field to face Cedar Bluff. The Tigers will stick around to battle Fyffe; then Fyffe will face Hokes Bluff. The Eagles will then line up against Spring Garden, before the Panthers tackle Ohatchee. Ohatchee and Gaylesville round out the night's competition.

The 2011 regular season begins Thursday, Aug. 25 with Cedar Bluff taking on the Cherokee County Warriors in Centre. The rest of the local teams begin their seasons Friday, Aug. 26.
